LSBDC launches 2020 Cyber Initiative

The Louisiana Small Business Development Center announces its 2020 Cybersecurity Initiative for small business owners and entrepreneurs as part of the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
The training is designed to provide a broad mix of small businesses with a variety of training programs that range from introductory familiarization to intermediate and even advanced cybersecurity training. Each training is led by Theresa Jones, CSA.

Each Tuesday in October, the Louisiana Small Business Development Center will host a no-cost virtual workshop that will cover the following topics:

Intro of Cyber & What Do We Secure – October 6 – 10 a.m. Modern business depends on online services, so having a better understanding of cyber security threats is vital. In this webinar, guided by Theresa Jones, CSA, you’ll learn how to recognize online security threats that could harm not only your business but your customers and explore the steps you can take to minimize your risk.

Business Continuity & Risk Management – October 13 – 10 a.m. The relationship between Business Continuity and Risk Management depends on the organization. In this webinar, guided by Theresa Jones, CSA, you’ll learn the importance of having a business continuity plan and how to manage the risks involved within your organization’s IT & cyber infrastructure.

Cloud Use & Understanding It – October 20 – 10 a.m.Businesses are switching to desktop cloud computing because of the many positives associated with the virtual desktop that help companies run with more fluidity and security. In this webinar, Theresa Jones, CSA, will guide you through the foundations of how applications, data, files and anything graphic are all stored in the cloud. As well as budgeting for the transition from on premise solutions to cloud based.

Cyber & Your Employees – October 27 – 10 a.m.Cyber training for your employees is critical because cyber threats abound in our always-connected work environments. What’s more, threats are continually changing. The common thread for some of the most significant threats today is people, your employees. Hackers know people can provide soft attack surfaces to make their exploits successful. In this webinar, Theresa Jones, CSA, will guide you through the foundations of Security Awareness Training to educate your first line of defense, which is your employees.
