LSBDC State Director explains the importance of small businesses to Louisiana’s economy

Louisana Small Business Development Center State DirectorThe West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce held its annual Small Business Awards Luncheon Tuesday afternoon.

The Chamber showed some love to local businesses. Organizers say the luncheon gives the Chamber an opportunity to recognize small businesses and the vital role they play in the community.

The three main topics of the day were entrepreneurship, start-up and success.

Rande Kessler, the director of the Louisiana Small Business Development Center explains the significance of small business to our economy.

“If you are going to look at 97% of the businesses in the entire state being small then that’s what drives, that is the economic engine for this area as well as the state,” says Kessler.
