Virendra Chhikara

Director

Virendra Chhikara is the Center Director with LSBDC at University of Louisiana Monroe. He earned his MBA from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2009. Prior to that he completed his MS in Industrial/Analytical Chemistry in 2003 from India.

While attaining his MBA, he worked as a graduate assistant for the LSBDC at ULM and was hired following his completion. Virendra has expertise in strategic planning, financial planning, market research, business development, International trade, and analytical research and development.



Christina Davis

Business Consultant

With 10 years of business management and entrepreneurship experience, Christina Davis is an expert in financial planning, market research and developing growth strategies. As a Business Consultant for the LSBDC at University of Louisianan at Monroe, she is responsible for helping start-up and growth oriented businesses reach their full potential.

Additionally, she manages the Small and Emerging Business Development Program (SEBD), which provides customized managerial and technical assistance needed to grow and sustain a small business. Prior to working at LSBDC, she worked with a non-profit organization; where she planned, organized, and arranged grant funded activities and events in the community for parents, family, and teens. A native of Magnolia, Arkansas, Christina, has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from ULM.



Laura W. Clark

Community Outreach Advisor

Laura Woodard Clark is a Brookings, SD native. She graduated from South Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and minors in women’s studies and German. She served as editor-in-chief of her university’s student newspaper and was involved in several student organizations, including the national honor society, Mortar Board. Most recently, Clark completed an M.S. in Healthcare Communication at Lasell College and earned her Women In Leadership Certification from Cornell University.

After graduating from SDSU, she served as the editor of a weekly newspaper in the Black Hills, where she learned all facets of the newspaper business. During that time, she was named Outstanding Young Journalist of the Year by the South Dakota Newspaper Association.

Clark moved to Monroe in 2005 and began working as the Assistant Director of Publications at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She was promoted to ULM’s Director of Media Relations in 2006.

She quickly developed a passion for working with her colleagues and the media to promote the university’s academic excellence, its cultural contributions, and its outstanding faculty and staff members.

During her time at ULM, she helped coordinate Ace’s Adventures (a free educational tool for the region’s children); provided leadership in publicizing hurricane relief efforts; and facilitated promotion of the university’s record-breaking bone marrow drive.

While at ULM, she was named Top 20 Under 40 Young Professionals by Delta Business Magazine. In addition, she and her colleagues received several awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for their public relations work.

In 2013, she began working as the Corporate Communications Officer at P&S Surgical Hospital and Specialty Management Services of Ouachita, where she  directed marketing and public relations efforts since for five years. During that time, the Louisiana Hospital Association awarded her a Certificate of Merit for Excellence in External Writing.

Clark is a past president of the Northeast Louisiana Young Professionals; a member of the United Way Community Investment Investment Committee; a board member of the Northeast Louisiana Children’s Coalition; a board member of the Christopher Youth Center, a board member of the ULM Women's Symposium, and a member of the 2016 Leadership Ouachita Class. She also participates in ULM's Mentorship Program. She also co-chaired fundraising efforts for P&S Surgical Hospital’s United Way campaign and the hospital’s participation in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

She and her husband Tim enjoy traveling with their four-year-old son, Weston.
